Welcome To Hassocks Seniors
You can always stroll along the South Downs Way and perhaps find a few balls from errant HGC members (big hitters these lads!)
Our aim is a simple one: To enjoy the game of golf in good company. Most of us have forsaken the world of w××k and choose to spend at least part of our time on that challenging but ever interesting patch of land known as Hassocks Golf Course. We might not suffer as much as P G Wodehouse who once wrote that "I was having a thoroughly good time. Then I took up golf, and now I can smile through the tears and laugh, like Figaro, that I may not weep,,," but we do have occasion to regale each other- over a pint of Harvey’s – with stories about the putts that got away or how we tamed the dreaded 11th hole!
We meet each Monday morning and less formally on other days of the week. The Section has a programme of organised events throughout the year, namely:
o Qualifying medal and stableford competitions which also contribute to our annual Emirates and Eclectic competitions.
o Social competitions with a wide variety of formats.
o Mixed matches with our Ladies Section.
o Matches against clubs throughout Sussex and Surrey.
o Various inter-club competitions and open days.
o Away days during the winter when we visit different courses once a month.
We are a vibrant but comparatively small section which means that all members have a chance to participate in all events,
